Thread Sealants Prevent Leakage of gases and liquids from pipe joints. Loctite anaerobic thread sealants provide instant, low pressure sealing and fully cure to prevent leakage caused by vibration loosening, tape shredding, sealant evaporation, damaged threads, changing pressures, and temperature cycling.

Advantages

  - lubricate during assembly
  - seal regardless of assembly torque
  - seal to the burst rating of the pipe
  - provide controlled disassembly torque, years later
  - do not cure outside joint, easy clean-up
  - available without fillers for critical hydraulic fittings
  - lowest cost per sealed fitting
  - easily dispensed on production lines

Disadvantages

  - not suitable for oxygen service and strong and strong oxidizing agents
  - not suitable for sealing at temperatures aboves 200°C
  - typically not suitable for use with piping diameters greater than M80
